Commissioning of gas-insulated switchgear (GIS) requires either a coupling capacitor or ultra high frequency (UHF) sensors, such as those used for on-line and off-line tests during normal operation. Such UHF sensors can be provided by the GIS manufacturer or can be installed later as external ring antennas, or as field probes using inspection windows, for example.
